James N. "Shade Tree" Shofner

James N. "Shade Tree" Shofner, 78, of Campbellsville, died at 7:47 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Joe Ed Shofner and Lurey Roarks Shofner, he was born on April 2, 1934, in Taylor County.
He professed faith in Christ and attended The Vineyard.
He served his country in the United States Army.
He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom, was a noted furniture maker and was a Walmart associate for many years, working as a greeter.
He married Juanita Allen on Dec. 19, 1951. She survives.
Survivors also include a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Julie Shofner of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two grandchildren, Aaron Joseph Shofner and Alayna Marie Shofner; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Sam "Jack" Shofner, Coy Shofner, Alvie Shofner and Laura Shofner.
Funeral was Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Dr. Ray Roberts officiated.
Burial was in Brookside Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
