James Wade Roberts, 87, of Campbellsville, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Fred Roberts and Esther Wade Roberts, he was born April 12, 1926, in Taylor County.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of World War II
having served his country honorably in the United States Naval Air Force.
He was a farmer and former employee of Ashland Oil and the Army Corp of Engineers.
He married Gladys Wise on Jan. 17, 1953. She survives.
Survivors also include two brothers, Bobby Roberts and his wife, Carolyn, and Elwood Roberts and his special friend, Irene Stansbury, all of Campbellsville; a sister, Alice Nance and her husband, Bob, of Campbellsville; two brothers-in-law, Willie Wise and Willard Wise and his wife, Delma, all of Campbellsville; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Wise of Campbellsville and Jo Ann Hedgespeth of Fairborn, Ohio; a special niece, Lee Anne Martin of Littleton, Colo.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Spochwski; and two brothers, Derald Roberts and Fred Roberts Jr.
Funeral was Monday, June 24, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Arnold Moon officiated.
Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
