John Lackey, 60, of Campbellsville, died at 6:32 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, in Louisville, Ky.
Son of the late C.B. Lackey and Nellie Francis Gibbons Lackey, he was born Nov. 25, 1951, in Taylor County.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Batesville Casket Co. in Campbellsville.
He married Terra Elliot on May 1, 1976. She survives.
Survivors also include a son, Dylan Lackey of Campbellsville; a daughter, Stacey Jewell and her husband, Ricky, of Magnolia, Ky.; six grandchildren, Taylor Morgan Jewell, Courtney Megan Jewell, Bryce Michael Joe Jewell, Haley Nichole Lackey, Kaitlyn Brooke Lackey and Jackson Craig Lackey; three brothers, Allen Lackey, Lewis Lackey and his wife, Judy, of Mt. Vernon, Ill. and Hubert Lackey and his wife, Barbara, of Aurora, Ill.; a sister, Sue O'Banion and her husband, Eddie, of Campbellsville; a brother-in-law, Gilbert Thompson of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters, Charlie Lackey Jr., Tommy Lackey, Gil Lackey, a brother in infancy, Rosie Thompson and Gladys Tate.
Funeral was Friday, Oct. 5, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Bob Martin and Brad Lackey officiated.
Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans
