Mary Evelyn Chelf, 93, of Campbellsville, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Grandview Nursing Home after an illness.
She was the daughter of the late Omerie Dunbar and Wallace Goode.
She worked at Lucky Vista Motel for many years and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.
Survivors include three sons, Floyd Chelf and his wife, Mary, of Louisville, Ky., Roger Chelf of Missouri and Greg Chelf and his wife, Connie, of Campbellsville; two daughters, Carolyn Propes and her husband, Dallas, of Liberty, Ky., and Linda Withers and her husband, Roger, of Campbellsville; a son-in-law, Everette Wise and his wife, Debbie, of Shepherdsville, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Bernetta Chelf.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Chelf; a daughter, Margaret Wise; a grandson, Patrick Chelf; five brothers, Charles Goode, John Goode, Welby Goode, Eddie Goode and Leonard Goode; and four sisters, Della Holcomb, Bertha Godsey, Ruby Michaels and Lillie Goode.
Funeral was Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Bro. Dave Walters officiated.
Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Steve Cave, Scott Chelf, Kevin Bryant, Brian Wise, Danny Tapscott and Mackenzie Milby.
