Sam Harrison, 79, of Elk Horn, Ky., died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, in Elk Horn.
Son of the late Otha Harrison and Anna Mae Phillips Harrison, he was born Sept. 28, 1934, in Taylor County.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member and deacon at Elk Horn Baptist Church.
He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.
He married Phyllus Baker on Feb. 6, 1954.
Besides his wife, Phyllus Harrison, survivors include two daughters, Kathy Harden and her husband, Ricky, and Shelia Moore and her husband, Robert, all of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren, Cory Harrison, Chris Harrison and his wife, Megan; Chad Wilson and his wife, Amanda; Jamie Wright and her husband, Tommy; Justin Harden and his wife, Kendal; Jessie Harden and Sami Jo Harden; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Margaret Perkins of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Gene Douglas Harrison on March 29, 2000; five sisters, Mildred H. Wolf, Venola Sharpe, Maudie Dile, Claudie Dile and Rachel Harrison; and two brothers, Willie Harrison and Walter Harrison.
Funeral was Monday, March 24, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville.
Drs. Brian Rafferty and Wesley Paul and the Rev. Haywood Riner officiated.
Burial was in Elk Horn Cemetery.
