Charles Elvin Farmer, 80, of Campbellsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Taylor Regional Hospital.

He was the son of the late Janie Ann Tungate Farmer and Otis Farmer.
Charles was an employee of the Taylor County School System where he was a custodian, drove the buses and had other assorted jobs. He loved the company of children. For many years, he was a Mannsville Supremes 4-H Adult Leader at 4H Camp. He also loved farming and was a member of Feathersburg Church of God.
Pfc. Charles Elvin Farmer served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from July 1952 to January 1955.
He was married to Audrey Farmer. She survives.
Survivors also include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Hollie Farmer of Elk Horn, Ky.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Robin and Walter Murphy of Liberty, Ky., and Rhonda Murphy of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Leonard McDonald; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral was Saturday, Dec. 7, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Chris Copher and Bro. Richie Carroll officiated.
Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were Mike Farmer, Steven Murphy, Chris Murphy, Kevin Murphy, Kenny Dale Murphy and Jason Murphy.
