Herbert Lee Perkins, 74, of Bradfordsville, Ky., died at 7:05 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, in Louisville, Ky.

Son of the late James "Jim" C. Perkins and Violet Rice Perkins, he was born Oct. 9, 1938, in Taylor County.
He was a retired logger and farmer and an avid fisherman.
Survivors include a son, James "Jamie" Perkins of Miami, Fla.; two daughters, Mary Jane Mattingly Marcum and her special friend, John Gilbert, of Campbellsville and Cynthia Posey and her fiancŽe, Donald Mattingly, of Gravel Switch, Ky.; two grandchildren, Dustin Mattingly and Mitchell Wright; three great-grandchildren, Dustin Cain, Maelee and Asher; two sisters-in-law, Mary Perkins of Columbia, Ky., and Rita Perkins of Campbellsville; mother of his children, Virginia Gaskins and her husband, Oscar, of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Phelps Perkins on April 19, 2007, Shirley Gene Perkins on Feb. 1, 1941, and Carl G. Perkins on July 11, 2009.
Funeral was Thursday, June 13, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Don Gowin officiated.
Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
