L. Dennis Beams, 94, of Campbellsville, died at 8:40 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late Frank Beams and Cannie Lile Beams, he was born Jan. 13, 1919, in Taylor County.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He was a World War II veteran, having served his country in the United States Army. He was former owner and operator of Mac Auto Shop.
He married Rebecca Crawley on July 14, 1951. She preceded him in death July 24, 2008.
Survivors include a son, Roger Lee Beams of Campbellsville; and a daughter, Ila Jean Webster of Campbellsville; three grandchildren, Kristina M. Corbin and her husband, Justin, David Lee Webster and his wife, Amanda, and Angela Porter and her husband, Brandon, of Campbellsville; four great-grandchildren, Ty Justin Corbin, Lea Marie Corbin, Clay Nolan Corbin and Lane Thomas Porter, all of Campbellsville; and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son, James Lloyd Beams, on Nov. 21, 2008; and a foster sister, Frances Lawson.
Funeral was Saturday, April 20, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Freddy Thompson officiated.
