Marie Karnes, 97, of Campbellsville, died at 4:10 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013, in Elizabethtown, Ky.

Daughter of the late William T. Bean and Nora Perkins Bean, she was born on Aug. 4, 1915, in Taylor County.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.
She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She was married to Charles Karnes on May 5, 1929. He preceded her in death May 27, 1977.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann Hayes and her husband, Clyde, of Campbellsville; a son, David Karnes and his wife, Karen, of Campbellsville; two granddaughters, Kristie DuSharm and her husband, Mark, of Little Rock, Ark., and Shondah Cox and her husband, Tim, of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren, Morgann Jaggers, Lexi DuSharm, Reif DuSharm, Kamree DuSharm and Jayden Bradshaw; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Garnita Webb and Mary Grant Carter; and two brothers, Thomas Bean and Milton Bean.
Funeral was Wednesday, July 24, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Haywood Riner officiated.
Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
