Paul Allen Dameron was born the first time on Sept. 12, 1954, in Marion County, Ky., to Harlan T. Dameron and Lois Lynn Dameron. He had an older brother, Keith.
He was born again April 14, 1963, in a Sunday school classroom at Marion Second Baptist Church when pastor Bro. Roy Gibson explained to him Romans 10:9-10.
That morning, Paul believed in and confessed Jesus as his savior. He received the gift of eternal life and the promise of a heavenly home, which he went to live in on July 24, 2013.
He was ordained to the gospel ministry by Marion Emmanuel Baptist Church and spent most of his career in Christian higher education. He worked 30 years at Campbellsville University.
He has gone to his heavenly home to wait for his wife, Betty; and three children, Vicki Dameron, Tammy Thomas and Johnny Walters.
It was his prayer that his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many of his friends, will join him there, too.
Funeral service was Saturday, July 27, at Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel. The Rev. K.J. Miller and Dr. John Hurtgen officiated.
Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Dewayne Frazier, Dr. Roscoe Bowen, Dr. Frank Cheatham, Otto Tennant, Matt Matney and Kenny Thomas.
Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.
