Virginia Shipp, 89, of Campbellsville, died at 8:10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Greensburg, Ky.

Daughter of the late Elmer Franklin and Elsie Keltner Franklin, she was born Sept. 16, 1923, in Taylor County.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bethel First Presbyterian Church.
She married Oscar Shipp on Dec. 24, 1941. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 2009.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Shipp and his wife, Linda, of Campbellsville; a daughter, Linda Shofner and her husband, Bobby, of Campbellsville; three grandchildren, Scott Shipp and his wife, Andrea, and Samantha Shipp, all of Campbellsville and Robert Adam Shipp of Elizabethtown, Ky.; five great-grandchildren, Mason Shipp, Addison Shipp, Skyler Shipp, Charles Ryan "Kade" Wichmann and Cameron Wichmann; two sisters, Lucille Brockman and her husband, Charles, of Campbellsville, and Christine Eschmann of Denton, Texas; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Shipp, on June 12, 2008; a brother, Robert Huston Franklin; and a sister, Audrey Johnston.
Funeral was Thursday, Feb. 28, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Jim Murphy officiated.
Burial was in Bethel Cemetery.
