Dr. William R. Neal, 69, of Campbellsville, died at 7 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late Amos Neal and Ethel Owens Neal, he was born Feb. 15, 1943, in Brockwell, Ark.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
He received a PhD from the University of Mississippi and was an English professor and chair of the English Department at Campbellsville University.
He was married to Beth Ann McCarty on July 13, 1982. She survives.
Survivors also include a son, John Neal and his fiancŽe, Katrina Melton, of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Joanna Neal of Portland, Ore; a stepson, Christian Darrow and his wife, April, of Dalton, Pa.; two step-grandchildren, Ashley Darrow and Ryan Darrow of Dalton; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral was Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Dr. Ted Taylor officiated.
Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
