Jewell Beard, 86, of Campbellsville, died at 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late Roy W. Sexton and Pearl Elizabeth Dixon Sexton, she was born Dec. 4, 1927, in Taylor County.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was a childcare provider.
She married the Rev. Shiley Beard in 1945. He preceded her in death April 18, 1987.
Survivors include a son, Paul Beard and his wife, Ann, of Campbellsville; a daughter, Phyllis Milby and her husband, Tom, of Campbellsville; a son-in-law and his wife, John and Debbie Cable of Bowling Green, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Damon Beard, Paula Rose, Laura Marcum, Vicki Milby, Anthony Harris, Tye Cable, Ryan Cable and Michelle Stewart; five great-grandchildren, Mark Evan Harris, Katie Harris, Elizabeth Marcum, Alayna Marcum and Mia Harris; four sisters, Wilma Farmer and her husband, Gerald; Sue Burriss and her husband, Jackie; and Kay Harrison and her husband, Harold, all of Campbellsville, and Linda O. Castillo and her husband, Pepi, of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother-in-law, Conrad Claycomb; and a sister-in-law, Faye Sexton of Campbellsville.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Stewart and Peggy Cable; a grandson, Timothy Perkins; three sisters, Dorothy Claycomb, Deloris Graham and Geneva Mattingly; and two brothers, Billy Frank Sexton and Roy O. "Tom" Sexton.
Funeral was Monday, April 7, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Revs. Freddie Norris and Wayne Brooks officiated.
Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
