Laveda Mardis, 88, of Campbellsville, died at 12:55 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late Henry Underwood and Susan Arnold Nelson Underwood, she was born March 6, 1926, in Taylor County.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
She married Hardin Mardis on Dec. 26, 1942. He preceded her in death Jan. 22, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Russell and her husband, Mike, of Campbellsville; two sons, Garnett Mardis and his wife, Ruthie and Terry Mardis of Campbellsville; six grandchildren, Chad Mardis and his wife, DeAnna, Shana Crabtree and her husband, Allen, Derek Mardis and Ashley Darnell of Campbellsville, Brandon Mardis and his wife, Devin, of Westport, Ky., and Kyle Mardis and his wife, Beverly, of Knifley, Ky.; eight great-grandchildren, MaKayla Mardis, Molly Crabtree, Gracie Hadley, Emma Hadley, Natalie Arnett, Blake Day, Brooklyn Milby and Kinsley Lee; special friends, David and Frances Miller and Beulah Netherland of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Mardis on Oct. 30, 2009; four sisters, Ada Underwood, Elsie Underwood, Ethel Lewis and Sadie Brockman; and two brothers, Bradley Underwood and Monroe Underwood.
Funeral was Monday, July 21, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Revs. J. Alvin Hardy and Mitch Ash officiated.
Burial was in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
