Doyle Gee Searcy, 75, of Simpsonville, S.C., died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at his home.

Son of the late Lewis E. Searcy and Marian Ashby Searcy, he was born Oct. 18, 1936, in Van Buren, Ky.
He was a minister of music and minister of the gospel for more than 60 years. He served at churches in Kentucky, Illinois, Maryland, Alaska and Germany.
He was a charter member of The Centurymen, an auditioned men's chorus of professional musicians who are directors of music in Baptist churches across America and from around the world, and had just returned from a concert tour with them.
Survivors include two sisters, Gayle Williams of Deer Lodge, Mont. and Glo Rita Sparks, and her husband, Jim, of Cox's Creek, Ky.; two brothers, Dwight Searcy, and his wife, Beverly, of Morning View, Ky. and Dr. Timothy Lewis Searcy and his wife, Brenda, of Ailey, Ga.; a son, Michael Searcy and his wife, Debbie, of Simpsonville; a daughter, Erin Kathleen Wells of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren, Joshua Purcell, Tyler, Elijah, Hannah and Jacob Searcy and Joshua Dudgeon; and four great-grandchildren, Tate, Selah and Charis Dudgeon and Peder Purcell.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 12, at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Ky. Visitation will also be at Calvary Baptist Church in Somerset, Ky. from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, with a celebration of life following at 2 p.m. Dr. Tim Searcy will officiate.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
