Rodger Abel Monson, 74, of Campbellsville, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late George S. Monson and Jewell Miller Monson, he was born on June 13, 1938, in Taylor County.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church.
He was a graduate of Kentucky Military Institute in 1956 and served his country honorably in the United States Army as a cryptologist and attained the rank of sergeant.
He retired from sales after many years in mercantile trade.
He married Peggy Ellis Williams on Nov. 12, 1988. She survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Debbi Sweat and her husband, John, and Cindy Marer and her husband, Pete, all of Bradenton, Fla.; Peggy's three children, Laura Williams Agee and Milton Ellis Williams and his wife, Carla, all of Campbellsville, and Myra Williams Oliver and her husband, Rick, of Dallas, Texas; two granddaughters, Ashley Marer and Kaitlyn Marer; Peggy's five grandchildren, Drew Bryant and his wife, KaAnn, Alexia Williams, Sydney Agee, Raquel Williams and Stone Williams; a sister-in-law, Jeff Malone and her husband, Mike, of Louisville, Ky.; and several other relatives and friends.
Memorial service was Monday, March 4, at Campbellsville Christian Church in Campbellsville. Minister Joe Hatchett and Rodney Booe officiated.
Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be donations to Gideons International or Campbellsville Christian Church and can be made at the funeral home.
