Gladys Shipp Pennington, 88, of Campbellsville, died at 11:01 P.M. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late Ander Smith and Mary E. Perkins Smith, she was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Washington County, Ky.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She was a member of Pitman Chapter #157 Order of the Eastern Star and Taylor Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
She was married to John Edgar Shipp. He preceded her in death in May 1959.
She later married Robert "Bob" C. Deener on July 7, 1961. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1987.
She later married Joe Pennington on Oct. 23, 1992. He preceded her in death Dec. 2, 2002.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Mary Shipp of Campbellsville; two sons-in-law, Louis Shipp and Pete Daugherty of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren, Brian Pickard and his wife, Tiffany, Charlotte "Cricket" Willis and her husband, David, Janet Woodcox and her husband, Tim, and Jessica Samuell and her husband, Kevin, all of Campbellsville, John T. Shipp and his wife, Leah, and Pennye Parsons and her husband, Steve, all of Greenwood, Ind., Toni Brock and her husband, Andy, of Peru, Ind. and Eddy Cox and his wife, Dawn, of Atlanta, Ga.; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Tommy Smith of Lebanon, Ky.; a sister, Faye Yankey of Springfield, Ky.; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Peggy Noel Shipp on Nov. 18, 2001, and Joyce Daugherty on Jan. 10, 2010; a great-grandson, Wesley Aaron Cox Kelsay on July 30, 1992; and three brothers, Richard Smith, Lester Smith and James Smith.
Funeral was Friday, April 26, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Dr. James Jones officiated.
Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
