Lenore Powell Britt, 96, of Indianola died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at South Sunflower County Hospital. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 1:00 pm until funeral service at 2:00 pm, at First Presbyterian Church, Indianola, under the direction of Burton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Indianola City Cemetery. Mrs. Britt was born February 15, 1916, to Clarence and Evelyne Powell in the Riverbend Community Northeast of Linn, MS. Mrs. Britt was a member of First Presbyterian Church, The Indianola Garden Club and the Civic League. She is survived by one daughter, Alice Britt (Orv) Varner; two sons, Amos Edward Boyer (Diane) Britt, Jr.; John (Donna) Britt, all of Indianola; seven grandchildren, Allison Britt; Amos Edward Boyer (Cherrie Lynn) Britt, III; Cristin Hamilton Britt (Halsey) Breshears; John Elton (Sunshine) Britt, II; Curt (Samantha) Varner; Lindsey Varner; and Sara (Kurt) Weidemeyer; nine great grandchildren; Cody P. Britt; Anna Bailey Britt; Grace Hamilton Breshears; Caroline Turner Breshears; Suzanne Whitelaw Breshears; Brianna Presley Britt; Mary Madelyne "Mallie" Britt; Alexis Gracen Varner; and Matthew Weidemeyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Edward Boyer Britt, Sr.; one sister, Thelma Powell McDade; and one brother, C. E. Powell.
