Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS for Mrs. Mary P. Davis, age 95, of New Hebron, MS, who passed away October 14, 2011 at Parkway Medical Center in Decatur, AL. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Cemetery in Carson, MS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18 beginning at 5:30 PM at St. Peters Catholic Church. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss is in charge of all arrangements.
Mary Marques Davis was born on January 10, 1916 in Hilo, Hawaii. She was the daughter of Antonio T. Marques and Maclina Texeira Marques. She worked with JDCH Extended Care Facility in Dietary before retiring. She was an active member of St. Peters Catholic Church.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughters, Melissa O'Brien of Pearl, MS, Diana Menendez of Chula Vista, CA and Cynthia Ponciano of Hillsboro, AL; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Cozy Zulicia of Alameda, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest L. Davis and a son, Norris Perry.
