Fortenberry, Diane - Brandon,  
Diane Dawson Fortenberry Brandon Diane Dawson Fortenberry, 81, of Brandon, MS, died on Sunday, March 22, 2015. She was born in Jackson, the youngest child of Hendrix Avera Dawson and Kathryn Howie Dawson. She graduated from Central High School and attended Millsaps College, Mississippi University for Women and the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. A talented artist, she employed her visual gifts in the world of advertising, first for the Clarion-Ledger newspaper, where she was Assistant Women's Editor, then for Jackson fashion and retail stores Gus Mayer, Kennington, The Emporium and McRae's. Her career then took her out of the state to assume the position of Advertising Director for the J. L. Brandeis department stores of Omaha, Nebraska. Following that she was appointed Sales Promotion Director at The Popular department stores in El Paso, Texas, remaining there until her retirement, when she returned to Jackson. She served as Secretary-Treasurer and later Vice-President of the El Paso Downtown Development Association, and was awarded Special Congressional Recognition for her contributions to the El Paso community. She was recognized in the inaugural and subsequent editions of Who's Who in Advertising. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Diane Fortenberry, and her husband, Michael House, of London and Northamptonshire, UK; two sons, Rance Fortenberry of Santa Rosa, California and Steven Fortenberry and his wife, Diane Fortenberry of Santa Clara, California and a granddaughter, Cleo Lepart Aoudar. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa (Terri) Fortenberry. She was a much-loved mother, friend and colleague who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 11 am until the funeral service at 12 noon at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, with burial at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.

Goodman, Thelma - Plano  
Thelma Mae Allen Goodman Pelahatchie Thelma Mae Allen Goodman, 92, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at The Park Nursing Facility in Plano, TX. Visitation will begin Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10 am until the 2 pm Service in the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Burial will follow in the Lodebar Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS. Thelma was born in Monroe, Louisiana on October 14, 1922 to the late, Ernest and Eva Allen. Thelma was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. Thelma grew up in Delhi, Louisiana and spent the majority of her life married to Charles William Goodman in Pelahatchie, MS. He preceded her in death in 1970. For the last three years, she lived in Plano, Texas. She was an avid booklover and gardener and spent the majority of her life as a stay at home mother. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thelma was a lifelong believer in the Primitive Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband; and a daughter, Elaine Shoemaker. Survivors include her children, Jerry Goodman (Charlotte) of Brandon, MS, Janice Gailey (Carl) of Morton, MS, Mike Goodman (Connie) of Pelahatchie, MS, Paul Goodman of Pelahatchie, MS and Robin Herrington (Gary) of Rowlett, TX; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Gray, Mayzell - Philadelphia  
Mayzell Gray Philadelphia Services for Mayzell Gray will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 10 a.m. from McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Sandtown Cemetery in Neshoba County. McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Gray, 88, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Neshoba County Nursing Home. She was a native of Neshoba County and longtime resident of the Bogue Chitto community. She owned and operated Gray's Service Station in Philadelphia with her husband for numerous years. Mrs. Gray was a member of Sardis Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a choir member. Survivors include her daughters, Louise Willis (Polan) of Decatur, AL and Sherry Lynn Barnett (Frank) of Daphne, AL; grandchildren, Pete Willis (Dalinda) of Decatur, AL and Dr. Wendy Davidson of Fairhope, AL; great-grandchildren, Allison Jane Davidson, Jake Davidson, Lane Willis, and Buck Thomas; siblings, Johnnie Madison (James) of Philadelphia, Clarence Hall (Ann) of Lake, Mary Ann Roland (Carl) of Forest, and G.W. Hall (Nancy) of Newton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and their families. Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. "Junior" Gray; an infant daughter, Margaret Bessie Gray; grandson, Ryan Willis; mother, Martha Hall; father, John William Hall; step-mother, Christine Shackleford Hall and brother, Jack Hall. Pallbearers will be Jack Madison, David Hall, Joe Hall, Eddie Gray, Brent Gray, and Kent Gray. Memorials may be made to Sardis Baptist Church or your favorite charity. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia.
