Anne Jenkins Bethea, 84, died at St. Dominic Hospital, in Jackson, MS on Friday, February 8, 2013.

Mrs. Bethea was born August 24, 1928, in Jackson, MS. She lived her formative years in Port Gibson, MS, and attended Millsaps College where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. While attending Millsaps College she married William Dallas Bethea, Jr. After Millsaps College, Mrs. Bethea and family moved to Laurel, MS. Subsequent to Mr. Bethea's death she moved to the Jackson, MS area where she lived the remainder of her life.

Mrs. Bethea was also preceded in death by her parents, Dr. William N. and Helen Ledbetter Jenkins of Port Gibson, MS.

She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Jackson, MS, The American Guild of Organists and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Opera.

Survivors include daughters, Sally (Dolan D.) Self and Katie Cuchens all of Madison; sons, Bill Bethea, Jackson, MS and Jim (Molly) Bethea, Zachary, LA; grandchildren, 1LT. Will Cuchens, Charleston, SC, Bryan Cuchens, Oxford, MS, Dr. Lauren Bethea, Jackson, MS, Katie Bethea, Boston, MA, Jessica (Andy) Carpenter, Leawood, KS, Emily (Tom) Mihalenko, Boynton Beach, FL, and Chris Bethea, Mandeville, LA; great-grandchildren, Abby Carpenter and Maggie Carpenter, Leawood, KS.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 9:30AM in the parlor of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Jackson, MS with funeral to follow at 11AM in the Sanctuary. There will be a brief graveside service at 11AM on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Lake Park Cemetery in Laurel, MS.
