Catherine Wilson Burney, age 86, died Thursday, October 17, 2013 at her home in Crystal Springs. Visitation will be Saturday the 19th from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Crystal Springs United Methodist Church Parlor, 306 W. Georgetown Street with services to follow in the Sanctuary at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Crystal Springs City Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Burney was born in Silver Creek, MS on October 16, 1927, the daughter of Earl M. and Clara W. Wilson. She grew up in Natchez and graduated from Natchez High. Catherine graduated from Co-Lin Community College with a major in Home Economics in May, 1946. She met her husband, Ben Richard Burney, at Co-Lin and they were married May 31, 1949. They moved to Crystal Springs in 1956 where they made their home.

She was predeceased by both parents and her sister, Earline Wilson Fitzpatrick. Catherine is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ben R. Burney, sister Betty Ruth Wilson Koerber of TN, daughters C. Glynn Burney, Janice B. Arrington (Marty) and Virginia B. Price (Joel).

Catherine's most beloved and lasting legacy was her grandchildren: Jamie Myers; Erica Myers DeRouen (John); Isaac Price (Meghan); Thomas B. Price (Tricia); Lee Berry (Belle); Ben R. Berry (Katie). Great grandchildren are Jon Aaron, Chelsea, Katie, Jayme DeRouen; Josh Myers; Andrew, Madison, Hunter Price; Avery Benton Berry. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Memorials can be sent to CSUMC Children's Endowment Fund.
