I. Paul Cole, 94, passed away September 30, 2012. He was born June 10, 1918 in Alma, AR. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas in 1939, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was an honor student and active in many school organizations. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Mr. Cole was a Mason, Shriner, and Scottish Rite Mason for 74 years. He also worked for Shulton, Inc. for 43 years, where he was a sales manager and earned many professional awards. Mr. Cole was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Covenant Presbyterian Church, Jackson, MS; Germantown Presbyterian Church, Germantown, TN; Spring River Presbyterian Church, Hardy, AR; and Briarwood Presbyterian Church, Jackson, MS. He was very active in church, singing in the choir and serving in the roles of deacon, elder, clerk of session, and church school teacher. During his retirement, he continued to stay active in Cherokee Village, AR, serving as a commissioner for the village, president of SID, and various other civic roles. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his wife, of 63 years, Josephine C. Cole. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Cole Kern (Lawrence); two sons, Roger L. Cole (Mary) and Paul C. "Tip" Cole (Judith); seven grandchildren, Roger Cole, Jr., Katherine C. Thomas, Kollin Kern, Kristen Kern, Terrence Cole, Kevin Cole, and Paige McCormick; and four great-grandchildren, Airey Cole, Campbell Cole, Lewis Thomas, and Cole Thomas. Services were held on Thursday, October 4 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Memphis, TN.
