Mary B. Johnson
Mary Beatrice Johnson was born to the late Robert and Ella Lorean Johnson on July 25, 1952, in Edwards, Hinds County, MS. She was born and reared under the strong influence of a religious environment and became united with the Champion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Bolton, MS, at an early age.
Mary Beatrice received her elementary education at Chapel Hill and Edwards Junior High School and her high school and junior college certificates from Utica Junior College in Utica, MS. She earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration from Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS, and her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Minnesota
, Minneapolis, MN. She also earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Agricultural Economics from Alcorn State University. She was employed as a contract specialist with the United States Department of the Navy in Mechanicsburg, PA, until receiving disability retirement and returning to her hometown of Edwards, MS.
On Tuesday, March 19, 2013, Mary Beatrice entered in eternal rest. She is survived by: two sisters, Marilyn J. Lynn of Indianola, MS, and Evelyn Celia Johnson of Glenndale, MD; six brothers, Emanuel Johnson (Lydia) of Mitchellville, MD, RC Johnson (Queen) of Plymouth, MN, WC Johnson (Everlyn) of Starkville, MS, HC Johnson (Barbara) of Hattiesburg, MS, Bernard Johnson (Callie Ann) of Port Gibson, MS, and Carl Johnson (Michaele) of Upper Marlboro, MD. She also leaves: sister-in-law, Sherry Bryant Johnson of Clinton, MS; nine nieces; nine nephews; and a host of other relative and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Chapel Hill MB Church of 5137 North Chapel Hill Rd., Bolton, MS, followed by burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
