Robert Carlton Hackett died April 4th 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital at the age of 87. He was born August 31, 1925 in Jonestown, Ms to the late Alice and Reeves Hackett. He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Mims Hackett.

After graduating from high school in Oakland, Ms, he served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1942-1946. After returning from the war, he had a long career in the meat processing business . Upon retirement, he started a new career at Gulf South Medical Supply Company in the distribution business. Finally, he assumed the roll of a loving caregiver for his wife of 61 years during an extended illness. Robert will be remembered for loving his family, his love and devotion to his son, missing his wife, and making dressing for holiday dinners.

He is survived by his son Robert Carlton Hackett Jr( Bobby) and his daughter Miriam Hixon and her husband Tom Hixon, also grandsons Tommy and his wife Heather Hixon and Shane and his wife Rebekah Hixon and great grandchildren Gatlin, Garner, Lillian, Dawson, and Kennedy Hixon.

Arrangements include visitation 1pm Monday, April 8, 2013 at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, funeral service at 2pm with graveside to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Magnolia Speech School for the Deaf.
