Funeral Services for Rosalie Holmes Brown, age 94, will be Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Indianola. She passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Magnolia Gardens in Greenville. Burial will follow at Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Burton Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown was born in Kilmichael, Mississippi, on December 24, 1918, and was the daughter of Clyde and Ruth Holmes. She received both her Bachelor's and Master's degree from Delta State Teachers College and was employed by the Indianola Public School District as a teacher for many years. As a long-time member of First Baptist Church, she was active in the Golden Circle Sunday School Class and the WMU. She was also a member of the Indianola Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Posey Brown, her parents, and her siblings, Nell Hamer of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Mildred Tollison of Winona, Mississippi. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Brown Carlyle (Ron) of Indianola and Susan Brown Fiechtner of College Station, Texas; five grandchildren, Megan Carlyle of Daphne, Georgia; Lauren Duffy (Ben) of Lakeland, Tennessee; Katherine Segler (Tres) of Wichita Falls, Texas; Meredith George (Greg) of Tucson, Arizona; and Brent Fiechtner of College Station, Texas. Rosalie is also survived by three great grandchildren, Nathan and Nora Duffy of Lakeland, Tennessee and Hollis Segler of Wichita Falls, Texas. Pallbearers are Ben Duffy, Tres Segler, Brent Fiechtner, Randy Randall, Burke Fisher, Don Barger, Jerry Casano and David Jenkins.
