Jerry McCrory

Jerry Eugene "Deb" McCrory, lifelong resident of Brandon, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 24, 2009. He left this earth with the assurance of an eternity with his Heavenly Father, and with the joy of reunification with his earthly mother.
Deb McCrory was the finest type of friend a person could have, and he had many. He was never too tired or too busy to lend a helping hand- be it family, friend, neighbor or, on many occasions, a complete stranger.
He was a man of many accomplishments. He would say his greatest accomplishments were being a good son, brother, husband and father. Those things were the most important to him. His greatest treasure was his family. His joy in life was most evident when surrounded by his family members.
Deb McCrory was known for his tremendous work ethic, and he was involved in the trucking business for over 30 years before retiring due to health issues.
An avid outdoorsman, his favorite pastime was sharing the joys of hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family. He took great pleasure in passing his knowledge of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren.
He was a man among men, a leader by example, a heart full of love.
He is respected by and will be missed by all who knew him. He will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his wife Jewel; sons Chuck, Kenneth and David; daughter Jeri Lynn; daughters-in-law Karen and Syndy; siblings Judy Ray, Cecil McCrory, Patsy Thompson and Norma Jean Graham; grandchildren Brandon, Ashley, Kristen, Aaron, Amanda, Jessica, Emily, Mary, Clinton and Joshua.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt and Gracie McCrory, and brother, Earnest .
Visitation is 1:00-4:00pm today and 11:00am-12:00pm Monday, December 28, 2009 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 12:00pm Monday in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
