Dear Marcia,
As a classmate of Hayes at Northwest and with the relatively closeness in seniority numbers we had little opportunity to be around each other very much. Never-the-less learned to appreciate him and with his serious approach toward our careers. Hayes, though quite reserved, always had a very kind, friendly greeting or word at those times we met. This was much appreciated. My most heartfelt sympathy is sent your way and trust you will feel the support and love being sent your way from all those who had known Hayes in his NWA career. Roger Moberg, Captain. NWA (Ret.)

I always enjoyed Hayes any time I flew with him. We were both Southern boys, and if my memory serves me (which is not certain anymore), Hayes still had some of his Southern accent. It was a real pleasure knowing him.
God bless

Dear Marcia,
I and Jerry are so sorry for your loss. Hayes was a delightful person, he did not live to for from my husband
Jerry. Hayes and I graduated from Provine together. I had known him for
years. May God be with you and yours
