Linda Jones Harris


Linda Faye Jones Harris, 66, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Baptist Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Puckett Baptist Church with burial following in Puckett Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church and will continue at 10:00 a.m. Friday. Linda was born on April 3, 1947 at the Old Baptist Hospital in Jackson, the daughter of the late Glen and Ruby Jones. A graduate of Central High School, she continued her education at Draughns Business College. Linda worked for 10 years as a teller at M&F Bank in both Brandon and Pearl. Linda was currently a school bus monitor for bus 63, Rankin County Schools. Linda loved children and spending time with her family, she enjoyed watching NCIS, CSI, Wheel of Fortune and crossword puzzles. She loved animals, especially her beloved Bacchus. She enjoyed fishing; and in her younger years, she played softball and liked bowling. She will be remembered most as a cherished wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, a beloved sister and friend. Linda was a faithful member of Robinhood Baptist Church. She is survived by her soul mate and best friend, Mike Harris of Brandon; daughter, Sherry Greene (Roger) of AZ; son, Clay Tullos (Cathy) of Taylorsville; daughter, Lisa Coburn (Shawn) of Bastrop, LA; son, William Harris of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter, Melanie Harris of Bastrop, LA; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother, Larry Daniel Jones( Jean) of Florence; sister, Ruthie Jones Lofton (Grant) of Braxton; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family.
