Mary Louise Chandler, 60, of Augusta, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 in Andover. Closed casket visitation with family, Sunday 2-4 pm at Headley Funeral Chapel and Service 10 am Monday, July 15, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Mary was born in Laurel, Jones County, Mississippi on October 4, 1952, to the late Helen (Harrison) and Sam Lindsey. On July 10, 1970 at Laurel, Mississippi she married Harris Chandler who survives her. In 1974, she received her bachelor's degree in music education from Mississippi State University. She then taught music for nineteen years in Augusta. She is also survived by: sons, Harris Chandler Jr., and Robby Chandler and wife Bethany all of Augusta; step daughter, Shari Kohs of Houston, TX; brother, Sam Lindsey III and wife Diane of St. Marys, GA; sister, Jane Reed Crawford and husband Bob of Columbus, MS; grandchildren Ariane, Aidan, and Braxton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary enjoyed gardening and hand work, and had a passion for music and the Lord. She was a member of SAI, PEO, DAR, and BSF. She was preceded in death by her parents, and granddaughter Lillian. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Choir 2420 N. Ohio Augusta, Kansas 67010.
