Mrs. Phronia Wade Acey Tussey, 94 of Yazoo City, MS died at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland, MS on February 23, 2013. She was born in Holmes County February 26, 1918. She is survived by her husband, Donald M. Tussey of Yazoo City, brother, Paul R. Acey of Jackson, three daughters, Billie Day of Yazoo City, Bonnie Acey of Pearl, and Johnna Freeman (Jim) of Lavonia, GA.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Norman Charles Acey, daughters, Jeanette Straus of Pearl, MS, Charlene Ray of Bridge City, Texas, grandson, Randy Day of Pearl, granddaughter, Joy Barnes of Pearl, and great-grand daughter, Stacey Perry of Carthage.
She has 64 direct descendants: 5 children, 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 26 on her 95th birthday, 2013 at 2 PM. Stricklin King Funeral Home, Yazoo City, MS. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services, with burial at Glenwood Cemetery.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Yazoo City. Phronia worked at Ely & Walker Factory for 25 years. She was known as the "Avon Lady", having sold Avon for 30 years.
Her loving memory will sustain her family for years to come. We are left with one of her favorite phrases; "I have loved many people and many people have loved me".
