Ronnie "Tiny" Cook James 71, of McComb went home to be with the Lord June 6, 2014 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Visitation was Monday evening at Jones Funeral Home in McComb and continues Tuesday from 9 until services there at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Rev. Justin Woulard will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Todd and Randy Dickerson, George Wesley and James "Dober" Anderson, Phillip Planchard, Chad Griffin, Boogie Breaux and Freddie Denstel.

Honorary pallbearers will be current and former members of MDOT Law Enforcement and Weight Scale personnel.

Mr. James was born on April 21, 1943 in Magnolia to the late George Earl James and Reginia Cook James.

Early in his law enforcement career he worked for the Mississippi State Campus Police and was Assistant Police Chief in Woodville for several years. He worked for the MVC, State Tax Commission, and MDOT Law Enforcement for 37 years. He was an avid Mississippi State Bulldog fan and was a member of Central Baptist Church for 45 years. He loved his children and grandchildren with all of his heart.

Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Robert Earl James; and one nephew Randy James.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years Shirley Fassmann James of McComb; one daughter Shannon J. Sterling and her husband Bobby of Hattiesburg; one son Ronnie Damon James and his wife Rachel of McComb; five grandchildren Raven and Harley Grace Sterling, Brooklyn James, Kevin and Kurt Jarrell; one sister-in-law, Linda Fassmann of Phoenix, AZ; one uncle Gene James and his wife Christella of Texas; a great niece Marissa James of Hattiesburg; a special family friend Mrs. Betty Dickerson of McComb and numerous cousins and friends.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016.
