Hamilton Turner Ware passed from this life on February 15, 2013. Visitation will be Monday, February 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Broadmeadow United Methodist Church with the funeral to follow at 12:30 p.m. and the commitment service at Lakewood Memorial Park immediately thereafter.

Mr. Ware was born in Simpson County on September 11, 1922, to Dolphus Lucius Ware and Cecil Annie Ware. He moved to Jackson in 1927 and graduated from Central High School. In 1940 he joined the 155th Army Infantry 31st "Dixie" Division and served in the Pacific theater of World War II. He married Frances Pauline Seal on August 31, 1946, and together they reared two children in a home centered on their Christian faith. Devout Christians and lifelong Methodists, Mr. and Mrs. Ware were founding members of Broadmeadow Methodist Church where they each served in numerous lay positions.

Hamilton "Hank" "Red" Ware entered the construction industry upon his return from service and worked in the glass business for ten years before founding Mid State Construction Company in 1958. During his distinguished career he served as President of the Associated General Contractors of Mississippi and was named a Lifetime Director of the National AGC. He served two terms on the State Board of Contractors including 5 years as Chairman.

Mr. Ware was very proud to be a Mason and a Shriner. He was Potentate of the Wahabi Shrine Temple, President of the Dixie Shrine, and a faithful member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was also active in Habitat for Humanity, Civitan, VFW, and the Boy Scouts.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Geraldine Ware Poole. Surviving him are his wife Polly; brothers Dolphus Luther Ware and his wife Lucy, and Paul David Ware; his daughter, Vicki Ware Snow; his son William Stephen Ware and his wife Frances. He cherished his grandchildren, Angela Watkins Graves (Joe), Ashley Watkins McAnly (Lance), Allison Watkins Cunningham (Christian), Sarah Hensley Ware, and Olivia Ware Terenzio (John). He leaves six much-loved great-grandchildren who provided him with much joy.
