Vivian Manning Schoeber passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, at Damascus Baptist Church, 3964 Hwy 22 in Flora, MS 39071 at 11:00am with the service following at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery on Cedar Hill Rd. in Flora.
Vivian was born in Flora on April 1, 1938 to Earl William Manning and Mary Moulder Manning. Earlier in life Vivian owned and operated numerous beauty shops, before she got into real estate, where she remained until contracting cancer in 1997. She fought cancer for several years and beat it three times.
Vivian was loved very much by her family but never had any children of her own. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, three brothers James Alvin Manning of Flora, John Henry Manning of Jackson and Thomas Eugene Manning of Canton; two sisters Minnie Lee Burnham of Mendenhall and Sara Pauline McCary of Flora; nephew William Burnham of Mendenhall; a niece Michelle Gutherine of Flora and a step grandson Gabriel Niskala of Brandon.
She is survived by her Husband William Schoeber; a brother Milbon Earl Manning (Margaret) of Flora; 2 step daughters, Candice Baldwin of Pensacola, FL and Kimberley Niskala (Brion) of Brandon; a host of nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
Vivian was a lifelong member of Damascus Baptist Church and she request in lieu of flowers that a donation is made to Damascus Baptist Church or to Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.
Bill would like to thank Tommy and Maurine for their invaluable help during Vivian's illness, to all that visited her in the hospital and nursing home. The flowers, prayers, calls all meant so much to Vivian and me. To our Damascus family for their continued visits, prayers and calls I am grateful. To Paulette and her family, to Malissa and her family for their calls and visits, Lester and Anne and my daughters Candice and Kimberly and Brion, we love you all.
The family would also like to express our deepest appreciation to Dr. Grace Shoemaker and staff at St Dominic's and the Nichols Center in Madison for their diligent and unwavering dedication to Vivian's needs.
Pallbearers will be Brion Niskala, Jim Wolverton, Zach Wolverton, Chase Wolverton, Lester Manning, and Teddy Runnels.
