Sidney Rubin, born in Philadelphia, PA on August 15, 1925, died at St. Catherine's Village in Madison, MS on May 14, 2014.
Sid was predeceased by his wife, Naomi Rubin in 2010, and is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law; Ira (Sheila Stiebel Rubin) and Bob (Debra Chavis Rubin), and sisters, Sadie Elkins and Tillie Golisum, his loving grandchildren, Becci Rubin Craig (John) and Stuart Rubin (Andrea), and his 5 wonderful great grandchildren. Sid is also survived by his special friend, Billie Rice.
A second generation glazier, Sid passed on his skills to his sons, who both worked with their father in the family glass business. He was an avid and accomplished bridge player who reached Life Master Status. Sid also enjoyed playing bridge, sailing, or fishing. He was a model boat builder and his many boats are displayed lovingly by his family. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. Catherine's for their loving care and attention. Special thanks to Kelly Ingebretsen of Gentiva Hospice, who kept him comfortable and well cared for. Private burial arrangements will be made by the family at a later date.
