Debra Slayton Garkovich

Debra Slayton Garkovich (previously Debra Murray), 57, passed away unexpectedly May 8, 2014 in Canon City, CO. She was born August 26, 1956 in Greenville, Mississippi to James and Mildred (Fuquay) Slayton.
Debra was united in marriage to Joseph Garkovich. She worked in outside sales for 25 years, then found her passion for teaching. She taught at Cheyenne High School in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, prior to moving to Canon City.
Debra is survived by her husband, Reverend Joseph Garkovich; children, Christy Nohra and Kelly Murray; grandchildren, Cheyenne Murray, Eliana Nohra and Mirabel Nohra; and sisters, Pat Hamill and Donna Dykes. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 230 pm Saturday, May 31st at Northeast Christian Church in Madison, MS.
