Nancy Hutcherson Nesbitt

Snohomish, WA

Nancy Hutcherson Nesbitt, 71, of Snohomish, WA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 8, 2014. She was born on November 9, 1942, in Oxford, MS, the daughter of Dudley Robert Hutcherson, Ph.D. and Anita Cometti Hutcherson.

Nancy graduated from University High School in Oxford, MS. She earned a B.A. in English from Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA, and a M.A. in English from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV.

She taught English primarily as a high school teacher at Murrah and Provine High Schools in Jackson, MS. Nancy also taught college English courses at West Virginia University, Southern Indiana University and Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN.

Upon retirement Nancy moved to Loudon, Tennessee's Tellico Village community.

Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, traveling, tai-chi, badminton and church activities. She was an active volunteer for the Good Samaritan Center of Loudon County in Tennessee and the Sierra Club's Mississippi Chapter among many other non-profits throughout her life. She recently moved to Washington state to be close to family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Nancy is survived and missed dearly by daughter and son-in-law Laura and Gordon Bowles and their children Samuel and Abigail of Everett, WA, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Angela Nesbitt and their son Ryan of Richland, WA, as well as many cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Dr. Dudley and Anita Hutcherson and her brother John Reese Hutcherson.
