Obituary Condolences

Stafford Spencer Cooper, 75, a resident of Forest passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his residence. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Vicksburg at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Reverend Reginald Williams and Pastor Scott Reiber.
Mr. Cooper was born in Alexandria, LA to Stafford A. & Eloise H. Cooper. He married Mary McCandlish of Haddon Heights, New Jersey in 1958. He attended LSU where he received a BS degree in mechanical engineering and was President of the Pistol and Rifle Clubs. He was a resident of Vicksburg, MS from 1960 to 1968, where he worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1968 until his retirement in 1995 accumulating several patents and was the recipient of The Commander and Chief Award for engineering design and application. He moved to Forest, MS with his oldest son Thomas C. Cooper in 2006 where he enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family and was an advocate for outdoor sports.
He is survived by 4 sons, Thomas C. & Carolyn Cooper of Forest, MS; Stafford J. & Edna Cooper of Tallulah, LA; Stephen N. & Janice Cooper of Crowville, LA; Robert A. Cooper of Forest, MS; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Little Love" McCandlish Cooper.
Honorary Pallbearers will be, Jeffery Cooper, Devin Cooper, Casey Cooper, Chad Cooper, Ashley Cooper and Jennifer Cooper.
