Emmitt Purnell "Bubba" Rose, 73, died Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Visitation is Friday, February 25, 2011, 5-8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the New Cleveland Cemetery. Jordan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Emmitt was born in Greenwood on February 24, 1938, to James Chilton and Virginia Thomas Rose. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School where he was an outstanding athlete. He attended Ole Miss and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. His education was interrupted by a three year period of service in the U. S. Army, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon his return, he completed his education at Delta State University, earning a degree in business administration. He retired in 1995 as a division manager with Tropicana Products. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Muller Rose and three children, Laura Rose Hudson (Ron) of Moss Point, Jim Rose (Tina) of Tupelo, and Claire Rose Brady (Johnny) of Puckett, as well as, seven grandchildren, Richard Nunenmacher, Mary Beth Nunenmacher, Lacy Crumrine, Austin Rose, Natalie Brady, Brittany Brady, and Kelly Brady. He is also survived by a brother, James Rose of Olive Branch, and a sister, Anne Mills, of Fullerton, CA.
