David E. Kilby
David Edward "Pete" Kilby, 91, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at his home in Indianola. Visitation will be Monday, December 17, 2012 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service at First Presbyterian Church in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Burton Funeral Home of Indianola. Mr. Kilby was born March 9, 1921 in Humphreys County to Edward and Mae Tom Bridges Kilby. He worked as a Chevron Oil Distributor for 44 years before his retirement. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder Emeritus. Mr. Kilby was a former volunteer Police Officer, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Indianola, a Shriner, and a Veteran of the United States Army, serving with the 518th Ordinance. He will always be remembered as a dedicated husband and father. Mr. Kilby is survived by his wife, Blanche Livingston Kilby; two daughters, Brenda Kilby Thames (Jimmy) of Jackson, and Janice Marie Kilby of Indianola. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Kilby Schoenberg of Olive Branch and two brothers, Ethel Bridges Kilby and Joseph Randolph Kilby.
