William Benjamin (Billy) Milligan, Jr., born on March 8, 1939 passed away December 14, 2012 at Madison County Nursing Home in Canton after a lengthy illness. Visitation for Mr. Milligan is 2pm-4pm today at Lakewood Funeral Home on Clinton Blvd, in Jackson. Private graveside services will be held Monday in Lakewood Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers are Earl Walker, Tom Jennings, Earl Monk, Wendall Gambrell and Perry Blocker.

Mr. Milligan, 73 , was a lifelong resident of Jackson, MS. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Faye (McCharen) and his parents, William Benjamin (Ben) Milligan, Sr, and Mattie Lou Foley Milligan. Survivors include two sons, Neal Milligan (Angela) of Madison, Ben Milligan (Sterling) of Madison, one brother, Mickey Milligan (Carol) of Clinton and sister-n-law, Gwen Schmelzer (Joe) of Jackson. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Sarah, Avery, Wright and Megan.

Billy attended Central High School in Jackson and was a member of the graduating class of Provine High School in Jackson in 1956. He attended Hinds Community College and graduated from Mississippi State University. Billy was a U.S. Army veteran and concluded his service with the 492 Civil Affairs Reserve unit in Jackson. He retired after a long and dedicated career with Equifax in Meridian and Jackson. Billy was an active member of both the Jackson chapter and the statewide organization of the Jaycees. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church of Jackson. And most of all he was a caring father, husband, grandfather and a devoted friend to many in the Jackson area.
