Billie Joe Davis
Billie Joe Davis, of Bude, MS died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born June 25, 1931 in Bude, MS. He will be laid to rest at the Midway Cemetery in Meadville, MS on Saturday, December 29, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents William C. (father) and Olympia Davis, and Roger and Hazel (mother) Lenior.
He joined the US Navy in 1950 following graduation from Central HS in Jackson MS. He served proudly on the USS Frank E Evans during the Koran War. Upon returning from service, he entered a plumber's apprenticeship becoming a Master Plumber working for 45 years in his chosen profession. In his retirement he enjoyed wood crafting, especially crosses which he gave away, and being able to rekindle old friendships.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a great man who instilled in his children to be trusting and not judgmental in others, to work hard, and above all be a Christian.
He is survived by: wife LaRuth B. Davis of Bude, MS; sons: James C (Phyllis) of Jackson, MS and J. Paul (Chastity) of Huntsville, AL; daughters: Nancy J Dunnihoo of Spotsylvania, VA; Nora J Nowell (Richard) Pearl, MS; grandchildren: Jereme and Ryan (Laura) Dunnihoo, Zach Harlan, Bailey and Matthew Davis, and Miranda Davis; great grandchild: Laurali Dunnihoo.
