Billy W. Stewart


Billy Wayne Stewart, Sr, 72, of Pearl, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee with burial in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, January 9, at the funeral home.

Billy was a member of Truitt Memorial Baptist Church in Pearl where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and a Mason with the John P. Byrd Lodge No. 629. Mr. Stewart enjoyed dove hunting, watching all types of racing and mostly enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and events.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Thompson Stewart, Pearl; children, Angie Stewart McWilliams (Gregg), Magee and Billy Wayne Stewart, Jr. (Stephanie), Decatur; grandchildren: Hunter McWilliams, Stephen Stewart, Will Stewart, Elizabeth Stewart and Emily Stewart; step brother: Jerald Little (Pat), Magee; step sisters: Lois Smith, Pearl, Hazel Wigington (Charles), Heflin, Al and Missy Bashline, Magee; mother-in-law: Berniece Thompson, Magee.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William "Jake" Troy Stewart & Mary Myrtle Gunter Stewart; step-brother: Paul Little; step-sister: Jane Chestnut; father-in-law: Evon Thompson; step-mother: Mary Little Stewart.
