Helen Wayne Tyler Lott died Friday morning, February 22 in Winona, MS after an extended illness. She was born on January 19, 1929 in Winona, MS.
Helen was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women with a degree in English Literature. A loving wife and mother, she shared with her children and grandchildren her passions of singing, piano, sewing, cooking, reading, decorating, photography, gardening, and travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Estol and Wayne Coleman Tyler, a sister, Kaye "Kayce" Coleman Tyler Kilpatrick and a son, William "Bill" Allen Lott.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Yancy M. "Sonny" Lott, Jr. of Kilmichael; a sister, Esther Carole "Punk" Tyler of Cary, North Carolina; her daughters, Melissa Lott of Chicago, IL; Luanne Lott Stewart (Van) of Dearborn, MI; Caroline Lott Howell (Ricky) of Belden, MS; Amanda Lott Barr (Bob) of Big Canoe, GA; and Holley Lott Beeland (Richard) of Chattanooga, TN; her sons, Murray Thomas Lott (Sheryl) of Mooreville, MS; John Phillip Lott (Michelle) of Keller, TX; Brooke Townsend Lott (Cindy) of Birmingham, AL; and Kevin Tyler Lott (Kathy) of Tupelo, MS; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 on Sunday, February 24 at the Kilmichael United Methodist Church followed by a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Helen Lott to the Kilmichael United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 187, Kilmichael, MS 39747.
