William Baynham Baker, 65, of Benton passed away Tuesday April 30, 2013 at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

He was a member of Benton Baptist Church & before retiring was Director of Transportation Distribution for Georgia Gulf in Gluckstadt, MS.

Survivors are his wife; Glo Eckert Baker, mother-in-law Elizabeth Eckert of Benton. cousins; Joe Dale Hartness, Presley Hill, Mary Glass, David Stockstill, & Danny Stockstill, brother-in-law James (Marcia) Eckert of Benton, sisters-in-law Emma Eckert Reed of Douglasville, GA., & Betty Eckert (Ken) Bagwell of Dawsonville, GA., nieces; Ashley Reed Mella, Kara Bagwell Hewatt, & Kristen Eckert Moreno, nephews; Sean Reed, Heath Eckert, & Blake Eckert, who are heading to Yazoo soon to celebrate a life well lived by their Uncle Bayham. And boy did he live a life worth living. He has touched so many by sharing his life experiences. Although he was not a man of many words over the past few years, not by choice but by circumstance, he taught us so many things. I cannot look at a National Geographic or watch The History Channel without thinking of him. He taught me to play poker and beat the best of them at spades. In our family, he was "The Most Interesting Man in The World." He will be missed by many and remembered by many more.

Visitation & Memorial services will be held tomorrow at Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel in Yazoo City. Visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. followed by services at 3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: The American Heart Assoc, The , or The ASPCA.
