Clarence Evans Noblin, Jr.
Clarence Evans Noblin, Jr., 89, died Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 at Courtyard Manor Nursing Home in Lafayette, LA. Funeral Services will be 11am Monday, September 23rd, 2013 at Lakewood Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9am. Interment and graveside services will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Clarence, better known as "Nob" to most of his friends, was a longtime resident of Jackson before moving to Lafayette in 1994. He was a member of Leavell Woods Methodist and Asbury Methodist Churches. He was a switchman with the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad until his retirement in 1981 and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army having served as Corporal in the 818th Engineer Aviation.
Clarence is survived by: wife, Lucille Dow Noblin of Lafayette, LA; step daughter, Anne Womack of Lafayette, LA; step daughter-in-law, Teresa Dow of Texarkana, AR; three grandsons; three great grandsons; and his best friend and faithful 16 year old dog, Honey. He was preceded in death by his son, Evan Noblin, III in 2008.
He was known for his love of sports, his generous nature, and will be missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful caregivers at Magnolia Estates and Courtyard Manor for the loving and outstanding care given during his stay.
