Ralph V. St. John
Ralph Vaughn St. John died Saturday, October 27, 2013, at his home in Jackson. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Entombment will be at later date at Seaside Memorial Gardens in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Ralph was the son of Dr. Ralph V. and Doris Robertson St. John, and grew up in Corpus Christi Texas. He attended both Texas A&I and the University of Texas at Austin, where he completed a B.S. degree and received an R.O.T.C. commission, serving in the U.S. Army, finally retiring as a First Lieutenant. He then went to work for Conoco Petroleum as a company Landman, first in Colorado before being re-located to Jackson in 1960, continuing with Conoco for two years before embarking on a long and successful career as an Independent. Ralph was a well known member of the local Petroleum Industry, and was a long time member of the Mississippi Landman Association.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Alice McDaniel of Madison, and numerous friends and associates throughout the Southeast.
