If you asked my Mother to this day she would say Hardy Nall was her Minister almost 60 years after he served Castleton UMC in Indiana. I am sorry that I never had the privilege of being reacquainted with the man that baptized me so many years ago. You will never be forgotten! Al Dalton

I served the Nashville charge from 1970-72 and Hardy was supportive when my wife died in 71. I was disappointed when he ended his appointment. A fine man and preacher. Gary Roberts

Reverend Nall was a stalwart of our community in Bloomington, a valued family friend and advisor. Rest in Peace. Brandt Ludlow MD

Back in the late 40;s, as a kid, I grew up in a neighborhood of a few ruffians, me being the smallest in the crowd. I compensated by trying to be like those big boys who taught me to cuss, which I thought surely would make me big like them. One afternoon I spent my nickel to go swimming at Riverside pool in Jackson, where this well built, stern man, sat on his throne and guarded the lives of us ruffians.. I was running about and heard Hardy bellow over his bullhorn that I was to leave the pool and sit aside. He was much older that I and knowing that I couldn't fight him, I did the next best thing the ruffians had taught me and proceeded to shoot him the finger. Now, I had no idea what that meant, but had been taught by the ruffians that it was what you showed to folks you didn't like, but never to your parents or other elders. Anyway, Hardy made me leave the pool, which he certainly should have. In later years, I had the distinct pleasure of seeing Hardy in plays at Millsaps and heard his melodious voice in the Millsaps Singers, where he and my sister, Karen Gilfoy, sang under the direction of the late Alvin Jon "Pop" King. All that thrilled me and caused me to dump the terrible ways the ruffians had taught me and to turn my life over to Christ.. Had it not been for folks like Hardy and my dear sister, only God knows what I would have turned into. As you grieve this dear man's passing, thank God for what he stood for, how he influenced those under him for Christ and how he touched my life. You are in my prayers.
