Gordon Hull Smith

Gordon Hull Smith entered into rest on Sept. 4, 2013, at the age of 95.
Gordon was born May 5, 1918, in Idaho Springs and was a resident of Idaho Springs his entire life.
Gordon graduated from Idaho Springs High School in 1936. He served in the Army during World War II and was a lineman for Public Service Co., retiring after 34 years of service.  
He was a founding member of the Clear Creek Sportsman's Club and a volunteer firefighter, and he taught hunter safety classes. Gordon was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending time with his family.  
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy White; his daughter, Joyce Marsolek; his brother, Don Smith; and his parents, Chester Smith and Julia Thompson.  
He is survived by his daughter Gail (Buddy) Copeland; grandsons Bryan (Shelly) Copeland and Bob Marsolek; granddaughter Carolyn Copeland; great-grandsons Tristan, Kash and Kacee Copelan; and great-granddaughter Harlea Copeland.  
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the United Church of Idaho Springs, 1410 Colorado Blvd. A reception will immediately follow.
