After a valiant fight with cancer, Harry Daniel Benson passed away on April 13, 2013, at the age of 76 in Georgetown. Harry was born in Minneapolis, Minn., to Marjorie and Harry Evan Benson on Sept. 22, 1936.
He is survived by his brother Bruce (wife Susan), nephew Christian (wife Andrea), and three grand-nieces, Evelyn, Molly and Elise.
Harry came to Georgetown in 1969 after serving in the Army and graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in marketing. Harry spent the next 20 years working at Loveland Ski Area as its marketing director. Harry went on to work for the Clear Creek School District's transportation department. Harry had an exceptional blend of wit and irony, and will be greatly missed.
Thank you to all who helped to allow Harry to remain in Georgetown where his heart and soul called home; whether it was bringing Harry meals, care-taking or genuine companionship, thank you. To know Harry was to love Harry. Harry was a beloved friend.
Join us for a celebration of his life the afternoon of June 22, 2013, at Loveland Ski Area.
